Scripture reminds us again & again that the “the Lord looks on the heart…” (1 Samuel 16:7). The heart is what matters, is yours in the right place?

Listen
What a great opportunity to stop & listen to the “gentle whisper of God” (1 Kings 19:11-13). Are you listening? Journal your thoughts.

This service can be done on your own, with your family, or with anyone you want to include. Make the most of it! Now let’s get started . . .

Communion 10:30am
- Jesus instituted the Lord’s Supper (1 Cor. 11:23-26) as an important reminder of his death, burial & resurrection, and the New Testament demonstrates that the early church shared the Lord’s Supper on a regular basis (Acts 20:7).

- Prepare & take the elements - Grape Juice & Unleavened bread

- Simple Prayer - Lord Jesus, I bow before you in humility and ask You to examine my heart today. Show me anything that is not pleasing to You. Reveal any secret pride, any unconfessed sin, any rebellion or unforgiveness that may be hindering my relationship with You. I know that I am Your beloved child, having received You into my heart and life and having accepted Your death as penalty for my sinfulness. The price You paid covered me for all time, and my desire is to live for You.  As I take the bread representing Your life that was broken for me, I remember and celebrate Your faithfulness to me and to all who will receive You. I can't begin to fathom the agonizing suffering of Your crucifixion. Yet You took that pain for me. You died for me! Thank You, Jesus. Thank You for Your extravagant love and unmerited favor. Thank You that Your death gave me life—abundant life now, and eternal life forever. As You instructed Your disciples, I, too, receive this bread in remembrance of You.  And in the same way, as I take this cup representing Your blood poured out from a splintered cross, I realize that You were the supreme sacrifice for all my sin: past, present, and future. Because of Your blood shed for me, and Your body broken for me, I can be free from the power and penalty of sin. Thank You for Your victory over death. You took the death that I deserved. You took my punishment. Your pain was indeed my gain. And today I remember and celebrate the precious gift of life You gave me through the blood that You spilled.  Amen

Special Prayer Time - 10:50am
Let’s Pray Together

  • AC Rowland’s dad is a doctor.  He just treated his first positive case of Covid-19 on Friday (3/13).  Although he himself has not tested positive, he has been exposed to the disease and has the potential to treat others who have the disease. Also, his family who lives with him will be around him and this includes AC’s 81 year old grandpa. Your prayers for this family are much appreciated.
  • The Graceworks organization is facing some real challenges now because of the current pandemic. For safety reasons, their store has been closed, the work force reduced, and the needs tripled. The area churches have been asked to help if they can and would appreciate our prayers.  Please pray for stamina and health for their team. Pray for the thousands of neighbors whose needs are growing. Pray that landlords, utility companies, and employers do what they can to mitigate the problems this virus is causes. Pray for peace for our neighbors and that they grow closer to God through these trials.
  • COVID-19 / Corona Virus
  • Pray for those who are sick, and their families – pray that the Lord will heal and comfort them.
  • Pray for our healthcare workers who are on the frontlines treating those who are sick – pray that the Lord will protect and strengthen them.
  • Pray for those on the frontlines providing other critical services, police, firemen, assisted living workers, delivery services, etc. - pray that the Lord will protect and strengthen them.
  • Pray for the vulnerable who are especially at risk – pray that this disease will pass over them and that they will seek help instead of putting themselves at risk.
  • Pray for the unemployed – pray that God will provide for their needs.
  • Pray for our church, world, national, state, and local leaders – pray that they would seek God’s wisdom in how best to deal with this pandemic.
  • Pray for students and families – pray for patience and discipline and that families will draw closer to each other and closer to God.
  • Pray for our Kingdom outreach – pray that the body of Christ will be a source of love, encouragement, and help to those around them.
  • Pray for wisdom, discernment, and truth in reporting (not self-serving).
  • Pray for those in Middle TN affected by the recent tornadoes – pray for peace and comfort and that their needs will be met.
  • Pray for our church family members who are facing health issues.
  • Pray for our shut-ins who are more shut in now.
  • Pray for people’s hearts to soften. – Pray that they will turn to the only one who can help them with their fear, Jesus Christ Our Lord and Savior. That they will know the truth that will set them free.
  • Each of us to grow in Him.

“Every Word” Bible Study Challenge
As we pursue our mission to “Grow Followers of Jesus Christ” we are constantly looking for ways to encourage/inspire Bible reading & study.  This Spring we are challenging AGCC (as a whole) to read the entire Bible, “every word” before Easter Sunday, April 12th.  Each person can only sign up for one book at a time, and a record of everyone’s progress will be kept on special posters in the foyer at AGCC.  If you complete the book of the Bible you signed up for, you can sign up again.  Sixty six books of the Bible, varying lengths & density. Don’t wait!  Follow the link below & sign up today!
